The Changing Face of

 Homelessness

Franklin Legacy Fund Teams With Local Organizations
to Spread The Word & Produce a Film About The Changing Face of Homelessness
Did you know that on any given night, there are X homeless women, families and youth in Monterey County?  Franklin Legacy Fund has made it our mission to help change this situation by changing the face of homelessness so our community can open their hearts and start putting tiny homes (also known as micro units) on their property.  We have teams up many different local organizations to spread the word about what a tiny home can mean to a homeless person or family.  And, what YOU CAN DO NOW to help us help others find a secure place to call home.

Franklin Legacy Fund is going to be working to educate the public about the need for tiny homes and how you can be part of the solution.  Often, the subject of homelessness is approached from the perspective of the problem. We are going to focus on how YOU can be part of helping people find new lives and become creative and healthy members of our community.  We have a three pronged approach to this:

  • Spread the Word: There is a growing tiny home movement here in Monterey County.  See links below.

  • Change Minds: By showing how tiny homes can be an integral part of our community, we hope to change the "not in my backyard" (NIMBY) perspectives into welcoming attitudes that will welcome people who find themselves needing a bit of help.

  • Producing a Film:  We are going to be producing a film about how tiny homes/micro units can make a different in people's lives.  Stay tuned for more information about this project.
