The Franklin Legacy Fund offers coaching and workshops designed to give non-profits tools that will strengthen their organizations and help them thrive and flourish.
Vision of Greatness Workshop
Visioning is the first step toward taking the dreams you have for your organization out of the realm of imagination and beginning to make them concrete. It is a two-step process for your team that encourages and gives each of you the tools to think big and in colorful detail. What it is you hope to see in the future starts to take shape in a way that can be shared with others.
The Franklin Legacy Fund is a family foundation that provides empowerment grants and expertise for non-profits. We offer Visioning Workshops free of cost to help qualifying organizations bring to fruition the dreams they have to make the world a better place. Visioning is an essential first step in launching any new venture or crafting meaningful change.
The Franklin Legacy Fund team trained in this process at Zingtrain, the educational arm of Zingerman’s Deli in Ann Arbor, Mich., a community of 10 unique businesses, with over 700 employees and a projected 60 million dollars in annual revenue. Zingerman’s, which has been featured on the front page of the New York Times for its unique management approach, has been called “the coolest small company in America,” by Inc. Magazine. Its co-founder, Ari Weinzweig , describes the process this way:
A vision is the actual destination. It’s a vivid description of what “success” looks and feels like for us—what we are able to achieve, and the effect it has on our staff. The results of practicing visioning for many years have been remarkable on both a professional and personal level. It’s helped us create a success that may not have been possible without the vision.
In two three-hour sessions, the Legacy Fund will guide the board and key staff to capture their thoughts, ideas and dreams on paper so they are equipped with something tangible to help guide their next steps, from creating a strategic plan to attracting funders.
Visioning...
helps you design your preferred future
⦁clarifies basic philosophy & goals
⦁simplifies decision making
⦁helps entire organization stay attuned to core values
⦁sets standard for entire organization
⦁expands horizons making ideas that seem like distant dreams into achievable goals
⦁empowers every participant to connect their energy, imagination, talent and work to the shared vision
At the end of the process, you will have grown your organization in ways you have yet to imagine and will have built the cohesive team to fulfill what you have imagined.
Begging for Beginners Begging for Beginners is a workshop for non-profit boards and volunteers designed to take the mystery and fear out of fund-raising. Participants develop a personalpitch that they can use to make friends, raise awareness and money for the cause they believe in. Using role-playing and humor, they learn the satisfaction of fulfilling their organization’s mission through their efforts. Creating and implementing the vision becomes the platform for successful fund-raising.
Co-Mentoring Program After completing these workshops, participants become eligible for an on-going co-mentoring group to maintain momentum and learn from one another’s experiences. The Franklin Legacy Fund is proud to co-sponsor these groups with the Community Foundation of Monterey County.
